Kiley was the greatest host ever! I was desperate for a last minute room and he instantly took me in and made me feel welcome immediately. He is very hospitable and has a warm presence. The house is spectacular and Kiley has done a great job with it. My room (crash pad) was perfectly clean, and there is every amenity available to you if you wish (AC, fan, heater, water, coffee, toiletries, etc). Highly recommend staying here if in Hudson (especially if on a budget)!!

The hosts at The Blue Room were very warm, welcoming and full of knowledge about the area. They were helpful in suggested places to see/eat and were very courteous and friendly upon our departure. The room was very spacious and was very comfortable. It was the perfect spot for a night in Hudson.

My husband and I stayed at the Traveller’s Suite for four nights, and found it just as described and photographed. Hudson was unseasonably warm during our stay, so the air conditioning was wonderful. While there’s ample street parking, that is subject to rules about when to park where, so the off street parking lot was great. We had a car, but the apartment is also within walking distance of the Amtrak train station. Hudson is a town full of wonderful food, too. In short, we loved it and would love to stay there again

“It is described as ‘1930s shabby chic’, and that’s pretty accurate. It’s stylish but not luxurious. There is plenty of space. Layout a bit strange (one bedroom off the kitchen, with no door between, bathroom off the other end of the kitchen), but as there was only two of us, it was fine. Very friendly hosts. Good value for money.”

The Crash Pad at the 3rd State was probably my most positive Airbnb experience so far. The listing was exactly described, perfect for our needs as people who were in town for the weekend for a music festival and would be spending most of our time out and about. Roxy was awesome, and gave us a great welcome. Check in instructions were simple and it was easy to check out. Excellent experience all around, we’ll definitely be back.

Our stay with Kiley was wonderful. The house is charming and in a great location. We felt taken care of and had everything we needed. The room was delightful and clean with nice light. We would definitely stay again.

Kiley and Roxie provided delightful, comfortable and friendly accommodations in the heart of Hudson. We stayed in the Audubon Suite. The suite had what we needed; private bath, simple kitchen and the suite has multiple sleeping rooms. It was light and quiet for sleeping and spacious enough for solitude. Kiley and Roxie greeted us warmly and made themselves available to us. We enjoyed the generosity and authenticity of our hosts and the complete upstate experience. Thank you for providing us with comfort and a much needed respite.

Listing and photos were accurate. We were warmly welcomed and happy to arrive to find a comfortable suite of rooms with all the necessary amenities. Communication was easy and prompt. Charming, practical and a great price for otherwise expensive Hudson. We walked everywhere and slept soundly.
Best of all worlds here–walking distance to everything, charm, comfort–yet real, in an authentic neighborhood and affordable. Though renovations to outside are to come, I especially liked staying in a hidden gem.

“My wife and I took a weekend in Hudson to celebrate our first month as married folks. I made all the arrangements (dinner at Swoon, tour of Olana, visiting the Spotty Dog, etc.) including booking Kiley’s apartment. I loved the decorative aspects and the furniture pieces, which were well represented in the pictures accompanying the listing. The bed with the curtain enclosures and the claw foot bath tub were the key elements for me and when my wife saw them in person, her jaw dropped. Suffice it to say that we both loved the space and found it very inviting. Additionally, it was a perfect location from which to explore Hudson. It’s just two short blocks off the main drag, Warren Street, and located conveniently (or dangerously) close to Cafe Le Perche, the wonderful bakery/cafe. I went there and grabbed some breakfast sandwiches and baked goods on our first morning there and enjoyed the short walk on a cool morning. When I returned with the food, Roxie, the caretaker for the space, stopped by to say hello, provide us with a map of the city and offer us some of her personal recommendations for favorite places to eat and spots to explore. She was very friendly and incredibly helpful. Overall, I have to say that both my wife and I were very happy with the space, it’s location, and our interactions with the hosts. We would gladly stay there again as well as recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing weekend in a vibrant upstate location.”

“there was free coffee tea, clean towels, wifi, and an in-room fridge. the linens on the bed were very clean and the bed was comfy. I was also greeted and given a map by our hostess. This place is quite nice on the inside,it’s a walk up–we stayed on the 3rd floor. I liked the size of the room and the baseboard heater kept the room at a good temp. Easy to get to warren st from here. Probably the best price point I’ve seen for a hudson Airbnb. I was expecting some sort of “catch” because of the price, but there was no catch. I would consider staying here again.”

“Convenient location! Great price! Felt safe and well tended to by sweet Roxie! Definitely recommend. I didn’t stay in the private apartments BUT next time I plan a trip with friends you can bet I’ll look here first!”

“Convenient location in Hudson, with reasonable rates for the area. Hosts were nice and accommodated our request to book quickly, which was much appreciated. Wifi was strong too. Thanks!”

“We had a great experience staying in the Star Wars room. The room was clean and spacious. We were only there for a few days but could have stayed much longer. Kiley is an Airbnb pro. It was easy to check in and check out. Love Hudson and would definitely try to stay here again.”

“The Crash Pad was clean, very conveniently located, and cozy. Kiley contacted me in advance with all sorts of useful information and had a key waiting the door when we arrived. It was a perfect place for my boyfriend and I to stay while we were in Hudson for Basilica Soundscape!”

“A grande dame of a Victorian, a work in progress, and a great stay in the Audubon Suite at ‘3rd state’… Simple, eclectic, unfussy and the right price… A nice hit of rural and urban as we set out on foot on a successful search for tomatoes that tasted like tomatoes. ‘3rd state’ is in a diverse pioneering area in rurban Hudson, where artists, writers and musicians are fixing up old houses for an affordable haven for creating— including musician-owner-carpenter-bellhop-raconteur host Kiley, who was hospitable and uber helpful. And warm friendly manager Roxie made sure we had what we needed: all is well under their mansard roof.”

The list goes on and on. Only the most recent reviews will be listed, and as they get outdated, they will be archived.
We’ve had our kinks: wedding parties and lots of hairdryers don’t mix well with an old house, some people are intimidated with gas stoves and ovens (but we are always around to help), and others aren’t comfortable with electronic locks (again, always there to help!).
3rd State Hudson is humble. We don’t strive for fancy. We strive for affordability conjoined with comfort. The house is still being renovated. But when guests are around, this comes to a halt. We want you to not have to worry about a thing, and enjoy Hudson to the best of our ability.
